The Homekeeper's Journal 2/2/11

It's fun to do these little journal prompts each week! :) If you would like to join in, visit the Christian Homekeeper and get right started!! Today's journal is on crafting and creating. I haven't done any of that in a LONG time. Maybe I'll find some inspiration to pick it back up??

In my kitchen this week...I am working at becoming more disciplined in my menu planning and having a good, complete grocery list so I am not returning again and again to the store.I am working at variety too, so that we're not AS tempted to eat out. Today I am making beef stew in the crock pot. I think I'll make some biscuits too!

When I think about crafting/sewing/making things I want to...Get back to quilting! I used to love it but I know I haven't touched it for at least a year!

My favorite creative outlet is...Lately I have been writing. I also enjoy knitting because I have my knitting basket right in the livingroom. I can knit and watch movies with the family or chat. (But I haven't been knitting lately either :P ). I like fixing up the house too... :)

A Craft I'd like to learn is...Toll painting, photography (really, it's a matter of money with photography to get a good camera and equipment), braiding rugs, making soap, and making wreaths.

One Craft that I can do but don't do much is...All the ones I mentioned... ;) I can do a little stenciling too and I can sew curtains. We used to make rag wreaths years ago but they're not really in style any more.

An unusual craft that I can do or would like to do is...Ummmmm...I've got nothin'...

Another craft that I secretly long to do but don't do right now is...Making clothes especially fancy girly dresses for children. :)

The Craft/Creative work that I have no desire to do whatsoever is...Counted cross stitch! I used to do it years ago but it makes me go buggy! I just don't care to use that much focus to make sure I am not one stitch off, which I usually was!! haha!!

  1. What a great post, Karen. I wish I could make clothing too because I am so fussy with things. Have a wonderful week!
