I've never heard anyone talk about how easy International Adoption is. It's possible that it is easy for a few people but they're not talkin' because they're afraid the rest of us will pummel them! ;)
The courts are busy here in Nicaragua as they "are trying to get everyone waiting home for Christmas". Okay, so everyone but us. And we are coming to grips with that (while we pray for a miracle). And we have to find joy and celebration in the Christmas season. As the mom I am doing my best to put on the brave, happy face and determine to make this a great Christmas for my family. And I believe it can be an awesome Christmas!
Tuesday I am out shopping and my husband calls because our electricity has been shut off. I won't bore you with the details but I'll just say that the reason behind it made us feel taken advantage of and mistreated. We're promised the lights will be back that evening. Nope.
The next morning we were quite down. It was the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak.
Quietly and without anyone's knowledge, at hour #23 our 3 little girls go into their bedroom to sing and pray that God would turn on the lights. Then they call in Papa and say, "Papa turn on the light switch!!" He flips the switch...and the lights come ON!
'Cause God is awesome like that to answer the prayer of our 3 little girls.
This sets off a string of answers...
I turn on my laptop and friends had written the day when the lights went out before to say that we were on their mind and they were praying for us!
'Cause God is awesome like that to stir people to prayer.
And my son who didn't know if he could get time off work to come here for Christmas but did know he'd have to replace himself with all his shifts writes to tell us his boss decided to find the replacements and let my son NAME the days he would like to be here!
'Cause God is awesome like that to stir a boss to help a guy go home for Christmas.
And I open my email to find out that someone sent anonymous money to our church to be sent to us to help us at Christmas time!
'Cause God is awesome like that to whisper to his people to send money even at the hardest time of the year for people to give financially.
Our adoption IS happening! We are NOT forgotten!
'Cause God is awesome like that!
"I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me." Isaiah 49:15b-16
I can't even tell you how much this means to me t'day.
