Christian Homekeeper 2/8/11

If you would like to join in visit The Christian Homekeeper . Let me know if you do, so I'll check out your blog! :)

This week's Homekeeper's Journal is a Hodgepodge of Thoughts and Ideas.

In My Kitchen this Week...We had fun getting ready for a Superbowl Party with friends and preparing goodies! I am making a streusal swirl cake for my fellowship group tomorrow night. Other than that, I am trying to maintain variety in our menus.

Foremost in My Thoughts this week...There is so much "preparing" happening. We are helping our son prepare for a missions trip to Nicaragua. He needs to send out support letters. We are doing what little we can to help our friends who are trying to adopt children. Many, many people in my church are adopting. My heart is heavy with the dire situation in Haiti. I am also thinking about reaching out to those who need the hope of the gospel. I am thinking about Church Planting.

I have been so busy with...Getting Tyler to his college classes and balancing homeschool with that added busyness. It affects everyone's homeschooling schedule. It's hard to get everything done that needs to be done so that you can work on the things you'd like to get done. I know that's life though. It's been that way for 45 years for me and I see no change in sight. I am comforted that God only has one thing for me to do at a time. I need continued FOCUS!

Could someone please...Make a pencil sharpener that sharpens pencils without completely eating them and breaking the leads? Or make pencils that can withstand the sharpeners?

I've been wanting to do this for so long...I really want to go back to the Root Cellar in Portland and love on the kids there. Rachel is dying to go too. :)

If I manage things just right...I'd have plenty of time to get everything done and still have a clean house and food on the table and plenty of time left over to spend with friends. :)
