Serve the Lord with Gladness!

This is the World Map that adorns our dining room. It's a great reminder that our little immediate world is just a little tiny piece of the REAL World! And I need to remember everyday that I am/my family is the hands and feet of Jesus to the world!

Two more days until my husband and the rest of the Nicaragua team from our church head to Nicaragua! They'll serve with the Messiah Project , staying at the Land of Judah orphanage. They'll get to love on the kids at the orphanage, visit and bring the gospel to 10 villages, hand out 3000 pounds of rice (Thanks to those who generously donated and participated in the fundraisers!!!), give out clothing (again, thanks to those who donated!) and soccer balls (Purchased from J316 Ministries , you should check them out!! They have gospel tracks in different languages and the balls have the colors of the wordless book!).

I am so excited for my husband and the rest of the team!!! They'll join up with dear church family already there (in process to officially adopt and bring home their sweet son!). Can you FEEL the EXCITEMENT??!! They leave Monday at 2 a.m. and are gone for one week. I know God's going to do GREAT THINGS through them!!

Today, my son Christian got to help with our Church's (Lakeside Community Church) community Easter Egg Hunt (He's easy to spot as one of his buddies is carrying him! I "borrowed" this pic from facebook...ahem...). The local elementary school generously allowed us to use their school grounds. When I got there, the parking lot was PACKED!! I couldn't even find my son. He finally found me. He was having a great time, I could tell. The kids there, can you say CUTE???? It was a great opportunity to love on the kids in our town and bless them with the 5,000 filled eggs!! My friend Heather did such a great job organizing the whole thing!! God is so good!! It is so fun to serve Him, isn't it?? And just as fun (if not more) to watch your family serve (which is kinda my role this weekend!).

Meanwhile, between my son Tyler having been here this week and the busyness of life, I have not done one drop of Easter Bunny shopping! I hope everyone else doesn't have the same issue or the store's will be PACKED tonight. Ah well... (Tyler if you read this, the Easter Bunny is going to have to ship your basket, hehe...)

Happy Resurrection Day!! May you "serve the Lord with gladness!" (Psalm 100:2)

  1. Two of my sons have been to Nicaragua a couple of times and hope to return each year with their church. It is exciting to see how God is working to show the people there His love.
Karen, it is such a blessing to see how you and your family are serving God. He is awesome and I am so thankful He allows us to be a part of all He is doing.
I look forward to seeing pictures of the trip.
