Here goes:

TIME:

In my Winter Kitchen it's time to...Lunch is in the oven, supper is planned (taco's). I need to clean out the frig and scrub it down and the oven could use some lovin'. Long term for this winter I would like to paint my cabinets.

My biggest Time Waster seems to be...Letting my focus fly out the window. I have always been a bit of a spacey dreamer. My dad used to say, "Karen, when is your balloon gonna land?!!" lol. So it takes real effort to stay on task. I can lose myself reading blogs, or I might hear a song and NEED to learn it on the piano, or start on the dishes and in the middle switch up laundry and get folding and in the middle put some laundry in my room and remember to make the bed. Meanwhile the dishes and folding is HALF done!! Or worse, I might just get lost in "la-la" land and forget what I am doing altogether. So I need a list and I need to work hard to STAY ON TASK!!

I do/do not view Time as a gift from God and here is why...I do feel like time is a resource and gift from God. The Bible says long life is a blessing and that all our days are recorded in his book before one of them came to be. I know my "days are numbered!" Okay I am feeling a little convicted over my flightiness...something to work more on...

When others are slow or dawdle I...Well really it only bothers me if I am trying to go somewhere and have said I will be there at a set time, or have a set appt. I am very time conscious and hate to be late. So I get frustrated and I have to work really, really hard to be patient. I may be flighty but NOT when I have somewhere I have to be at a certain time. My sisters would smile because we definitely grew up learning to be prompt (actually learning to be 5 min early!).

One way that I make good use of my time in my household is...The ONLY way to reign this head of mine in is with lists and praying that God would bring to remembrance that which is important. In fact I will usually list things to remember for the next day before I go to bed. Otherwise I am either awake worrying that I'll forget or I'll not worry and forget. :P Another way to make good use is to take care of small tasks with other tasks. For example, switching up laundry when I am in the bathroom or taking stuff upstairs when I do upstairs or wiping down something quick when I see. Of course, as you saw above, sometimes this is my down fall too!! I also know that at a certain time my back will call the day "over" so I try to do important things early!

"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12
