Winter Sports

It's that time of the year again...time to start those winter sports we all love. What's your favorite winter sport?  Here's mine...

Well, you may not seeing knitting at the Olympics any time soon, haha, but I'm telling you it's my favorite winter time sport! I specifically love to get a blanket going. That way I get to knit and stay warm at the same time!


I have two blankets going this year. The first is with Homespun Lion Brand yarn. It's so soft! The color I am using is called "Ocean." I think it will go nicely in the living room. Here's a close-up:

My other blanket is a white cotton blanket:

Notice how it has that edging? I am using the "Favorite Grandmother's Dishcloth" pattern. Instead of finishing for a small square I'll just keep increasing until it is blanket sized. Here is the pattern:

No fancy patterns, I can knit and chat or knit and watch a movie with the family. :) It's relaxing and helps me de-stress from the day. 


What's your favorite craft or home art? This week I want to try make a couple of Christmas wreaths. I found some tutorials online. If it comes out, I'll surely share. :)
