Summer is in full swing!! The weather has turned to those hazy, hot very summery moments and I am soaking it in while it lasts! I haven't posted in a few days as the days have been full enough on their own. :)
My mom came Saturday night to spend a few weeks with us. She knows when the good weather in Maine is...JULY! This week I am reaping the benefit of all the cleaning we did to be "company clean". Isn't it funny that when you're a kid you mom can barely get you to pick up your dirty clothes off your bedroom floor but when you grow up you not only clean every nook and cranny but UNDER every nook and cranny?? Kinda cracks me up but I still do it and am really thankful for it. Those nooks and crannies need a good cleaning once in awhile. :)
There's plenty more to keep us busy these days...parades and fireworks, soccer games and missions training, beach days and lazy days...
And tending the gardens, and attending birthday parties and barbeques, and making smores...
And lying on a lawn chair on the back deck, eyes closed, breathing deep, listening to birds sing...
"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life." 1 Timothy 6:17-19
