"God sets the lonely in families..." ~Psalm 68:6
I love summer. It's a great time for us to set aside the school books and just have some fun! I hope to make great memories together!
I like to ask the kids what they hope the summer looks like, what they would like to do, and who they would like to spend time with. It's always good to hear everyone's expectations and hopes.
Three teens...three distinct personalities...three sets of hopes and likes and dislikes... :) One of the great things about being a family is sometimes learning to set our own preferences aside for each other or to the bear with the one who at that moment is the weaker. We become strong and tighter for it!
Some of the things on our list are: going to the beaches both the ocean and the lakes, kayaking, mini golfing, movie watching, campfires, a bit of shopping, time with church family, family game nights. We each have our favorite places and events. We each have things we'd rather not do. We meet somewhere in the middle. It's a give and take that is sometimes hard but always rewarding. No matter what we always find SOMETHING to laugh about and that's one of my favorite things about my family. :)
It's going to be a great summer. I am looking forward to every minute of it!
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."
~Philippians 2:3-4
I love summer to, and we also try to fit in a little something for everyone.
